Change is a lasting truth

August was a month of change. As we got ready for the end of summer, for a new school year to start, we prepared also to move buildings into the new Suite, say goodbye to the space that housed kids at UCU for three years. Kids reflected on change with Ron Graham, one of the oldest members of the church who talked about changes he's experienced in his lifetime. Young kids watched this video about coping with change and we practiced some calming techniques and some ways to remember the things that we can hold on to as constant even when things outside of us change. We are always us. We are always human, and if we put our hands in another's hand, or on a rock or tree, we will eventually match temperatures, our bodies responding and connecting to one another.

One smaller kid who recently moved to the area reflected later to her mom: we sure do have a lot of change. New place, new school, new house, new kitten. But something thing that doesn't change is me, and our little family.

Goodbye Suite 300! We'll still be neighbors! Our new space just next door is very exciting - more windows and light, tiny cozy libraries, a room for big kids and teens separate from a room for the littler ones... stay tuned!
